Proclaim Series: Living it out

How has the last four weeks helped you grow?

Have you shared your faith with someone these past four weeks? If not, why not?

What do you think is the biggest challenge for you in sharing your faith?

Why do you think LOVE plays such an important part in proclaiming the Gospel?

What can we do as individuals and collectively to better reach our community?

Let's not forget prayer! What do you need from God to fulfill this calling?

Here's some ideas for things to pray for:

  •  Pray for the grace of God to equip you to share the Gospel well.
  • Pray for the people you want to share the Gospel with.
  • Pray for your community group to reach the community.
  • Pray specifically for the areas that you struggle with in sharing the Gospel.

Proclaim Series: Unashamed

Why should we share the Gospel?

"…All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 ESV

It is our duty to act out of obedience to Jesus.

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15). (Luke 6:46, James 1:22, Joshua 1:8)

How will someone know about Jesus unless someone tells them? It is a matter of salvation. Consider Romans 10:14:

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Prayer Focuses

  • To be unashamed of the gospel. (Romans 1:16)

  • For the individuals you would like to share the gospel too. (Philemon 1:6)

  • For wisdom and boldness in sharing the gospel. (Romans 10:12-15)

Proclaim Series: What is the Gospel?

Questions to consider and reflect on:

How has the Gospel, through the Word of God, transformed your life?

Remeber our justification as described in the "Romans road" (Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10, 10:13), our sanctification from our relationship with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13, Romans 8:11, Titus 2:11-14), and glorification as we look forward to Jesus' return (2 Peter 3:10, 1 Thessalonians 5:2, Matthew 24:36-44).

How would you explain the Gospel in a couple minutes?

"Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who ask you a reason for the hope you have..." 1 Peter 3:15

Example: "Jesus lived, died, was buried, and rose again to pay the price for my sin so that I may enjoy a life transforming relationship with Him today until the day when I will see Him face to face, and will enjoy His presence forever."

How is the gospel affecting your day to day life and decisions?

Why should you value sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Consider Romans 10:14-15 where Paul reminds us that people won’t believe unless they’re told, and they won’t be told, unless someone tells, and no one will tell unless they obey the call to go.

Things to pray for

  • Clarity and understating of the Bible.
  • Continual transformation to happen through the Holy Spirit in my life.
  • For joy and peace resting in confidence and anticipation of Jesus’ return.
  • To find value in sharing the gospel and the boldness to do so.
