As we get into the Fall season, we are putting our focus on prayer and discipleship as a church both on Sundays and also throughout the week. Prayer is such a powerful and important part of our personal walk with Jesus, but it is also vital to us as a church family. We are excited to have opportunities to gather to pray with one another in community in the coming months.

We are shifting our community groups in October and adding several new groups that will be meeting together in homes on different nights throughout the week to pray together, build relationships, and disciple one another. We are really excited to be having several new locations opening up so that we can have more people hosting, have groups small enough to allow for real connection with one another, and have times and locations that work for everyone’s schedules. If you’d like to join a community group, contact Pastor Daniel at daniel@redemptiondb.com

As we add and rearrange our community groups, we will also be getting back into a rhythm of groups meeting weekly and not every other week as we have been doing. Hopefully this will allow everyone to gather more consistently and if you need to miss a week, you won’t have to go so long between being there.

With our focus on prayer, we will also be fasting and praying the first Friday of each month starting this Friday, October 6th. Whether you choose to fast from a meal or for the day, take time to pray with us for the needs of our church, our families, our and our community. We believe God moves powerfully when we pray, and we want to be intentional about taking time to fast and pray as a church. There will not be community groups the first week of the month.

We are also excited to have a new opportunities for the MEN in our church to meet on Wednesday mornings from 7am-7:30am over zoom for a time of prayer. Contact Christian for the Zoom link to join or email us at info@redemptiondb.com. The LADIES are also continuing their prayer meetings on Friday mornings from 10am-11:30am in person to pray together, and if you’d like location information, please reach out at info@redemptiondb.com

Finally, we are having a time BEFORE our Sunday evening services for prayer from 4:30pm-4:50pm. We’d love to have you come early to pray over our service and the needs in the church before we gather for worship and teaching at 5pm. The prayer group will be meeting in a Sunday school classroom each Sunday at 4:30pm and we would love to have you come participate.

Every year, the City of Delray hosts an event at the end of October for the kids in our community called Kidsfest, and we have had the opportunity to host a booth as a church! Its a wonderful opportunity to be involved in our community and reach people with the love of Jesus in a fun and natural way. Various businesses, vendors, and organizations come and host games and activities for kids following their Trick or Treat down the Ave. It’s a really fun opportunity to be in our community!

We will need VOLUNTEERS to come for one of two shifts to help set up, tear down, hand out candy and invites to church, and run a game for the kids. It’s a great time to spend a few hours serving and reaching out to people in our city.

Let us know if you’d be interested in coming to help volunteer by signing up at the Connection Table on Sunday. We will have two shifts to volunteer: 10:30am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm. You can also help by DONATING A BAG OF CANDY (no chocolate or anything that could melt please) and bringing it to a Sunday service ahead of time. And be PRAYING for God to open doors for the gospel as we reach out in this way.
